The mission of The Bluewater Shoreline Residents’ Association (BSRA), as a federation of shoreline associations in the Hay West and Stanley West Wards in the Municipality of Bluewater, is to represent the common interests of the residents in these associations..

General Goals of the BSRA Board of Directors: 

  1. Protect and enhance the interests of Bluewater shoreline residents

  2. Provide information about common issues to our member associations for further dissemination and discussion.

  3. Communicate regularly with the Hay West and Stanley West Councilors to ensure that they are aware of the concerns and views of shoreline residents.

  4. Provide constructive criticism and promote an open dialogue with Bluewater’s elected officials, the Bluewater Administration  and also with the greater shoreline community.

  5. Monitor and participate cooperatively in the development and implementation of local, provincial and federal government policies that affect shoreline residents.

  6. Organize to enable effective and efficient communication with the shoreline community, the public and the media through: the BSRA website, the BSRA Newsletter, the BSRA e-Bulletin and media releases.

  7. Attend, upon invitation, any subdivision association meeting to provide information of interest to their residents. 

Priorities and Activities for 2011-12

  1. Attend all Bluewater Council meetings

  2. Meet and communicate regularly with the Hay West and Stanley West Councilors.

  3. Monitor and respond to issues of interest and concern to shoreline residents, including, as examples: industrialized wind factory farms, sewage treatment plans, taxation levels and the shoreline contribution to Bluewater’s tax revenues, and environmental issues.

  4. Participate in environmental workshops/seminars dealing with lake and watershed issues.

  5. Continue to track the impact of assessment changes on the property taxes paid by shoreline residents.

  6. Communicate with shoreline residents using the BSRA Newsletter, the BSRA e-Bulletin and email communication with Association Contact People.

  7. Continue to develop the information on the BSRA website.
